So my blog has made a little move! It is now going to be thisdarlingadventure.blogspot.com. And this will be the last post I do here on WordPress. You can follow me on Bloglovin here to get the updates! Or click the link to the new site and email subscribe to get future posts. As of now, I only have 8 posts under my belt, so I thought if I was ever planning to swap providers, the sooner the better.
I am graduating from college in a the next few weeks and will have much more free time. And with that I want to pour a lot more energy into my blog. One of my most cherished friends, Pam Bearden, over at Flourishing, is helping me to completely redesign the blog in a way that really fits my personality. I am so very excited to watch the new blog evolve into a beautiful place that I can express myself! I thank each and every one of you for investing in my story so far and would love for you to keep in touch as I make this move. Wishing you all the best in your very own darling adventures! –Meg
I can’t believe that it has taken me so long to post some of our engagement photos. School has been drawing to a close lately and has been keeping me insanely busy. But I am so in love with how our engagement session turned out and I wanted to share some of them with y’all! All of the photos were taken by the lovely and talented Katie Snyder. Our session took us to a few of our favorite neighborhoods in the city: East Atlanta Village, all around The Stacks, and a few in Virginia Highlands.
This was one of my favorite backdrops. The vines make for such a dreamy setting!
The view of the city from the roof is just breathtaking at The Stacks. But even more than that, this spot is extra special for us because it is the exact spot that we got engaged!! I was standing right in that same corner when Zac proposed!
There are so many photos that I love but these were just my very, very favorites!! Hope you enjoyed them!

About a month ago, Zac asked me “If you could live anywhere in the city, where would be your dream spot?” Without hesitation my answer was the FULTON COTTON MILL LOFTS.
And with that we have some extremely exciting news. We just found out yesterday that we got approved for an apartment there!! I’ve been bursting at the seams for the past week while I waited to hear back from the leasing office and now that I have confirmation I just can’t contain my excitement! Yesterday we were able to go over and view the exact apartment layout that ours will be so that I can start formulating plans! We’ve already been talking through so many potential ideas that we have for the space and I just wanted to share with ya’ll a few of the photos as well!
Another fun fact that my grandmother shared with us earlier this week is that my great-grandparents (her parents) were both employees of the cotton mill back when it was in use and that is where they met! How sweet is that! We decided it was definitely meant to be after she told us that story!
I LOVE natural light so my favorite aspect of the loft is the windows in the living room/kitchen space that stretch the entire length of the wall! (Photo cred to the lovely Shelby)
Hope you enjoyed the glimpse! I am so looking forward to being able to play with this space and transform it into our first home! What kind of things would you do in a space like this?
Doodling in a sketchbook has become a nightly routine for me. I’ve found it to be the perfect way to express myself and be able to dwell on certain things that really moved me. These were a few of my favorites from last night!
*Happiness is only real, when shared.*
One of my all time favorite movies is Into the Wild. It’s so inspirational to me and the nature is gorgeous. But this particular quote really resonated with me in realizing how important other people are in your own pursuit of happiness. No matter what you are pursuing or how hard you try, at the end of the day, what really puts that smile on your face is being able to come home and share the details of the day with someone special.
*you are my greatest adventure*
This took me back to the days when I was trying to decide what the purpose in writting this blog would be… It wound up being to document this amazing adventure with the love of my life. Zac is indeed the greatest adventure I have ever embarked on & I am so happy to know it’s an adventure that will never end.
*There are far better things ahead than any we leave behind*
One of my favorite quotes! C.S. Lewis is such a brilliant mind. To me, it is the perfect reminder to keep your eyes fixed on the hope of the future rather than in the past. Your story is only getting better from here!
I draw lots of my inspiration from Pinterest. I could spend hours on that site. If you don’t have a Pinterest, I definitly suggest you sign up for one. And if you already have one, follow the link to my profile at pinterest.com/meg_gleason and you can share all my inspirations with me!
Today was filled with white dresses! Me, Mom, and Lyd took off around 10am in search for ‘the perfect dress.’ We didn’t get back home until around 10pm.. With no dress in hand. Not because we didn’t find any that I liked but because my biggest flaw is indecisiveness. I can never decide on ANYTHING. So when faced with hundreds of gorgeous dresses and told that you can only choose one, its’s a nightmare.
I think my problem is (at least when it comes to fashion) that I know exactly, down to the detail, what I want in my head. I’m super picky but when I can’t find that in reality, I just wind up confused. So to solve my dilemma, I have scoured the internet looking for the perfect gown so I can simply order and get it over with. haha. I decided to compile my top picks all in one place to compare and make the final judgement. Now some of these gowns are ones I’ve physically tried on but others are ones I’m contemplating ordering straight offline without ever seeing in person..
After weeks of searching I’ve gotten my head stuck in a rut by looking at these same few dresses over and over without making any forward progress toward a decision.. so that leads me to my request from you all. I would love some outsider perspective on what you think of them!! Keep in mind it will be on the beach!
JCrew Bridal- Simple & Elegant
Etsy- Dainty & Unique
Vera Wang- Greek Goddess (I could choose any color waist sash)
Sarah Seven- Pretty & Textured
Here’s to hoping one of these lovely gowns falls from the sky in the coming weeks! Let me know which is your favorite!
Yesterday was the perfect family day. Minus the fact Zac and Jesse couldn’t be there. But nonetheless, we took a mini road trip to Scottsboro, AL solely to SHOP! All 5 of us pilled in the car and drove all the way across state lines. After about 3.5 hours, we arrived at a store called Unclaimed Baggage. We had no idea what to expect when we got there but thankfully we pulled up and the place was giant!
Basically, the concept of the store is that when baggage gets lost at the airport (i.e.. sent to the wrong place or no one claims it after a certain time period) this store buys it based on the weight. Then they sift through and price each individual item and resell it! So its like a thrift store for things that people never intended to give away.
Needless to say it was my kind of place!! They had tons of designer labels for really affordable prices plus tons of neat odds and ends.
Here’s a few of my favorite finds:
Maxi skirt from ZARA: $6
H&M blazer: $4
Belt, Makeup bag, Sketchbook, Mug & Towel: $8
All this jewelry: $6.. And who can pass up a unicorn ring.
Scarf : $4
Navy American Apparel hoodie: $2
Khaki cargo jacket from Urban Outfitters: $5
I came home with so many more lovely things but these were some of my top pick and I couldn’t help myself from sharing!!
I’m glad I was blessed with a spontaneous family who wants to accompany me on little trips like these! And if you live anywhere in the surrounding Alabama area I definitely suggest you go check this place out!
Big ‘official’ announcement. As few of you may already know, it’s kind of leaked to some that Zac and I are getting married in the US Virgin Islands!! But for the rest of y’all, now the cats out of the bag.. And, in the spirit of destination weddings, it’s going to be a real intimate affair with mainly just immediate family. I think we’re totalling 19 guests! And since I won’t be getting to send out any real save the dates, I doodled up one of my own (and because I got this ampersand stamp this week, am obsessed, and needed a reason to use it ;))! So as it shows, we’re getting married on June 9th! Which is exactly 4 months from yesterday!
Only downfall of a far-off location wedding is that so many of our dear friends won’t be able to attend… But, no fear, we’ve thought through this. As a couple, we desperately want everyone to feel like a part of our story so we’ve made some decisions that can hopefully involve everyone. Some of you may know the lovely Katie Snyder, she will be in attendance taking some beautiful photos of our special day so that everyone can feel like they were on the beach with us! Also, most importantly, the PARTY!! We’re planning to have some sort of reception party once we get back to the States so that we can all CELEBRATE together!
So friends, really just wanted to let out a few details so everyone can know what direction we’re headed in with the BIG DAY! We’re both some of the worst individuals when it comes to decision making. So naturally, after months of lolly-gagging around, once we finally made our minds up, I couldn’t wait to share the secret! That’s the latest update on our DARLING ADVENTURE!
